Estimated number of international migrants at mid-year

Estimated number of international migrants, in a country, area or region as of mid-year for each of the years indicated. The estimates refer to both sexes combined. The number of international migrants generally represents the number of persons born in a country other than that in which they live.

Estimated number of refugees at mid-year

Estimated refugee population as of mid-year of each of the years indicated. The estimates are based on data obtained from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Population as of mid-year (thousands)

De facto population in a country, area or region as of mid-year of each of the years indicated. Figures are presented in thousands.

Estimated number of female migrants at mid-year

Estimated number of female migrants in a country, area or region as of mid-year of the years indicated.

Estimated number of male migrants at mid-year

Estimated number of male migrants in each country, area or region as of mid-year of the years indicated.

Annual rate of change of the migrant stock (%)

Estimated average exponential growth rate of the international migrant stock over each period indicated, expressed in percentage terms.

International migrants as a percentage of the population

Estimated number of international migrants divided by the total population, expressed as a percentage.

Female migrants as a percentage of all international migrants

Percentage of female migrants among all international migrants.

Refugees as a percentage of international migrants

Percentage of refugees among all international migrants.
