The Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe is undertaking major reforms in the management of its national and international water resources. However, capacity-building at all levels will be a prerequisite to ensure an effective implementation of the Water Resources Management Strategy which is currently prepared. UNDP country strategy note includes a support to this ambitious programme. This Service for Programme and Policy Development (SPPD) facility is aimed at formulating the contours of a possible UN technical assistance to these efforts until year 2000.
