The project aims to assist the Government of India to improve the country's capacity to mitigate the effect of natural disasters effectively by building institutional capacities and developing human resources and thus protecting sustainable socio-economic development and well-being of its citizens. The project has two major components: strengthening the capacity of training institutions and enhancing the capacity of the Government to prepare strategy and plans for disaster management.
