Profile:

Idrissa Diagne joined the United Nations in 1984 as an Expert in Economics for a UN/DDSMS project in Senegal and has been an Advisor in Socio-economic Policy and Development Management since 1999. His career includes work as a Senior Economist for the UNDP in Congo (1997-1999), Project Coordinator for the African Development Bank in Senegal (1994-1995), Chief Technical Advisor for a UN project in Niger (1989-1993) and Expert in Economics in a UN project in Niger (1988-1989). He has been a consultant with international organizations in Guinea, Mali, Niger and Senegal and has taught at the universities of Dakar and Niamey. Mr. Diagne is a graduate of ENSAE-CESD in Paris (1984) and did postgraduate work at Laval University in Quebec, Canada (1996).

Macro- and micro-economic analysis, strategies and policies; structural adjustment policies and their social impact; public finance and fiscal policies, including social expenditure; international debt policies and management; investment programming and information systems for socio-economic management
