Pursuant to the mandates of resolution 50/225 of the General Assembly and the recommendations of the 13th Meeting of Experts on the United Nations Programme in Public Administration and Finance, this programme framework has been established in support of the implementation of capacity-building activities to enhance the role, performance, professionalism, ethical values and standards in the public service in the countries of the region. In order to achieve the goals of the programme a United Nations Thessaloniki Centre has been established in Greece. The programme considers the establishment and operation of online networks among the governments and institutions concerned.
