Geothermal resources development in China (Tibet)

This project will lead to institutional building and human resources training related to geothermal resources development both in Chaina and abroad. The project is also oriented towards important investments to be realized in the near future, in order to accelerate the development of necessary electricity supply by geothermal power generation and consequent economic development of the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. Under the project, the following main activities will be carried out:

In Yanbajain: (i) exploration and development of the high temperature zone at the northern part of the field; (ii) re-injection studies and environmental assessment; and (iii) space heating application evaluation.

In Nagqu: (i) reservoir behavior monitoring and space heating application evaluation.
