Integrated follow-up to UN conferences

The United Nations assists Governments, at their request, in knowledge management, sharing and networking for the integrated implementation of the outcomes of recent major United Nations conferences and summits and in strengthening national capacities for policy development, relying on information and communications technologies. Particular attention is given to intergovernmental review processes, including the integrated review and assessment of follow-up to these conferences and summits by the Economic and Social Council, its functional commissions and expert bodies. The United Nations seeks to promote interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approaches in its policy advice, knowledge sharing and knowledge networking, and also seeks synergies among its normative, analytical and operational activities.
