:: GOAL ::

to provide concrete support to the activities and programmes of the African 10-Year Framework Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

Africa is the first region to have developed and launched its own 10-Year Framework of Programmes (10YFP) on sustainable consumption and production. The Task Force on Cooperation with Africa encourages and supports African countries to implement the African 10YFP through:

  • Integration of SCP in national plans and programmes
  • Support that enables African Countries to 'leapfrog' towards SCP patterns.

:: Projects

The Task Force is developing projects for the region focusing in three areas:

  • A study of leapfrogging possibilities for SCP in Africa (English - PDF 750KB)
  • Development of an African eco-labelling scheme (Brochure - PDF 510KB)
  • Development and implementation of SCP action plans at the national level
  • A collection of Best Practices on SCP in Africa (English - PDF 2MB) from projects implemented by development agencies.
